A joyous celebration of the world of burlesque in cinema takes us through the salacious sixties and sinful seventies
The burlesque boom of the last decade or so has witnessed a scene that continues to grow and grow. With new converts all the time, dedicated nights and classes springing up all over the country and some very talented performers developing more and more unique styles, there seems to be no end in sight. The House Of Trixie Blue has become one of the benchmarks here in the North East, and they’re back at the Tyneside Cinema with The History Of Burlesque On Film, on Saturday 30th January.
This time they’re taking a look at the 1960’s and 70’s, as tease gave way to sleaze and bump ‘n’ grind stepped aside for grindhouse. Combining all the glamour of burlesque with the world of film, if their previous events are anything to go by, this will make for one fantastic evening’s entertainment.
Live performance and vintage clips combine in a joyous celebration of the salacious sixties and sinful seventies.
The History Of Burlesque On Film comes to Tyneside Cinema on Saturday 30th January.
