Reliably informed

The culmination of years of songwriting sees Tape Tree release his self-titled debut EP, with a very special launch part at Cluny 2 in Newcastle on bank holiday Monday 30th May.

The songs are filled with strong wordplay and inventive lyrics containing characters and stories which provide a kitchen sink realism. The smart, clever songwriting has plenty of lo-fi melodies to get utterly lost in, quirky musicianship allowing the wry humour the lyrics contain to really shine, even if they do deal with some dark subject matter that contains many universal truths. It’s all done with a tongue planted firmly in cheek. It’ll be interesting to see these songs performed live, and the debut album launch at Cluny 2 also features some other rising stars and gifted songwriters in the shape of High Tide 15:47Nev Clay and Slurs.

Tape Tree’s debut album launch is at Cluny 2 on Monday 30th May.
