From Sunday 22nd-Monday 23rd September, Stephen Fry, one of the foremost erudite minds of our time will take to the stage in Sage Gateshead’s Hall One. During his two day residency, the author, broadcaster and actor will sink his teeth into a selection of the greatest (and oldest) stories ever told – the Greek Myths.

Mythos is a trilogy of stage plays devised as an accompaniment to his book of the same name, and will see Fry indulge our mythological curiosity and tickle our funny bones as he articulates, educates and guides his audience through a labyrinth of ancient tales.

With three performances, titled Gods, Heroes and Men, the plays will offer a contemporary investigation of the Myths’ inception, meaning and application. Such examinations will include the creation of the Greek Pantheon, the adventures of Perseus and an exploration of the Trojan War. Individually and collectively, Mythos guarantees both laughs and illumination. However, at £50+ a ticket per play, it could be an expensive ancient education!

Stephen Fry’s Mythos Trilogy is at Sage Gateshead from Sunday 22nd-Monday 23rd September
