Psych rock behemoths TOY are set to play Stockton for the first time in two years on Saturday 30th May. Playing as part of Sonic Union, a series of gigs curated by Tees Music Alliance, the London quintet will headline the Georgian Theatre, alongside a multitude of bands joining them at nearby venues The Green Room and The Sun Inn. Joining TOY on the bill at the Georgian are The Vickers. Hailing from Italy, the dreamy psych quartet, alongside Silver Trees and Corey Bowen & The Midnight Dolphins, will provide the calm before the sonic assault provided by the headliners. Simultaneously, sister venue The Green Room will play host to local math-rockers Weird Shapes; preceded by the drone-heavy Dead End Street Band, brand new doomsters Dead Moon Lizard Kings and gloomy art-rock from The Golden Age of Nothing.

Storming the stage at The Sun Inn will be the eccentric Evil Blizzard with a rare North Eastern appearance. The eclectic group, which features four bassists, headline the small, yet atmospheric venue, supported by the bluesy post-punk of Cellar Door, psych rock from Newcastle’s Kobadelta and reverb-laden stoner metal from First Process Church of Mars to open up the proceedings.

With a line-up as mind-melting as this, and with yet more exciting goings-on to be announced, for a measly tenner entry fee this event is not to be missed.
