There’s something of a mini-festival set to occur in Stockton on Saturday 30th April, as The Georgian Theatre, The Sun Inn and The Green Room host twelve bands, all spread across these three excellent venues. They’re set to offer up some of the best psych, alt and garage rock sounds you could wish to hear, with special visuals to melt the mind too.

The Georgian Theatre hosts Bahrain’s five-piece, multi-instrumental Flamingods, who take their influence from all across world music, exploring and experimenting and leading to something very original. They’ll be joined by The Girl Sweet Pleasure Temple Ritual Band, as one-man-band Girl Sweat produces something very new. There’s psycho-erotic rockers Velvoir and ambient shoegaze from Teesside’s own Figmennt too.

The Sun Inn is home to the mixture of 60s psychedelic rhythms fused with shoegaze and shreds, provided by Purple Heart Parade. They’re joined by folksy electro-psych in the shape of Silver Trees and dreamy, unique tracks from Dusst, and it’s all rounded out by the quirky Pixelate.

That just leaves The Green Room, and their venue is no less impressive, the joyous, trance-like bliss of Parastatic is utterly original, and could be one of the stand-outs of the day. There’s also funk-rock from Crease, The Alice Syndrome’s psychedelic space-rock and wild, crazy garage rock fun from Green Fuzz in a day crammed with some of the best in trippy noise, across three fantastic venues.

Sonic Union 2016 takes place on Saturday 30th April at The Georgian Theatre, The Sun Inn and The Green Room in Stockton.
