Riding high on the back of yet another successful Twisterella festival last month, promoters The Kids Are Solid Gold team up once again with Tees Music Alliance for another instalment of their Songs From Northern Britain gig series, which seeks to showcase superb up and coming talent from our own region as well as exciting new acts from across the border in Scotland.

Taking place on Saturday 16th November, the event will be headlined by York’s The Howl & The Hum, whose absurdly catchy indie sound was honed the old-fashioned way, with frontman Sam’s experience on the York open mic circuit manifesting itself through the band’s DIY attitude. They’ll be joined in the main room by Glasgow duo HYYTS, Falkirk’s punky four-piece Pleasure Heads, all-grrrl rockers VENUS, pop funk band The Lulas and the lush epic sounds of Eddie & The Valkyries.

Over in the Green Room, Newcastle outfit FEVA will bring huge riffs and thunderous drums to their headline performance, with a supporting cast which includes the likes of Glaswegian rockers CRYSTAL, pop duo One Nine and alt. rockers Plastic Poetry. Our very own home-grown slacker popster James Leonard Hewitson also performs, as does guitar loop-master Girl From Winter Jargon.

In the Georgian Theatre’s bar, Redcar acoustic duo Komparisson top the bill, with sets from ‘barely rap’ artist Faithful Johannes and pop, country and R&B fusion artist Nadedja completing the line-up.
