If you ever watch or read the news, it is plain to see that laughter is something that the world needs more of these days. So instead of worrying about the collapse of civilisation, we should all just have a right old giggle at Newcastle’s newest comedy night.

Shenanigans is launching at The Cumberland Arms on Tuesday 28th May and features some of the biggest names on the circuit. It’s the ideal night out for comedy lovers and a chance to see some top talent in a raw, DIY setting. It’ll be ridiculous and anarchic but ultimately you will leave with a smile on your face.

The line up for this show is immense and features John Scott; an Edinburgh festival regular and acclaimed political comedian. As well as sets by Lee Kyle (recently named the Best Unsigned Comedian in the UK), Leicester Mercury favourite Nick Cranston and Funny Women Finalist 2017 Louise Young. The evening is hosted by Britain’s Got Talent finalist and impressionist extraordinaire Cal Halbert.

Spearheaded by promoter Liam Elcoat, who previously ran Newcastle’s longest running comedy night Long Live Comedy, the event will be a monthly fixture in the Ouseburn cultural calendar. With future shows (25th June and 23rd July) showcasing the talents of Game of Thrones star Ben Crompton, Ideal’s Seymour Mace, Nicola Mantalios-Thompson, Leicester Square Comedian of the Year Joby Mageean and Byker Grove’s Sammy Dobson, it won’t be long before Shenanigans establishes itself as one of the region’s finest comedy nights.

Tickets for Tuesday 28th May are £4 ADV. Doors are 8.30pm.
