In the wake of the release of their second album Albeit Living in July on Felte Recordings, LA punk/EBM band Sextile have announced plans for an extensive European tour, which calls in at Newcastle’s at Think Tank? on Saturday 20th January.

The band describe the new record as being a “politically charged, introspective album of observations on our world today”, which manages to refrain from detracting from the band’s chaotic, raucous live appeal.

Having cut their teeth on the Los Angeles underground over the last few years, the band have generated real buzz in the last several months. Borrowing the intense, austere approach of Bauhaus inflected post-punk, the industrial sensibilities of Einstürzende Neubauten and the colourful fizz of 80s synth pop, the result is real musical alchemy. With tickets at a reasonable £7, the Think Tank? gig provides an intimate opportunity to see an exciting, young band before they play much bigger stages.
