NEWS: SESSIONS FROM THE PIT LIVE @ CARNIVAL HOUSE

The Creative Seed’s popular music event series Sessions From the Pit returns to Carnival House in Southwick, Sunderland on Friday 24th March with an all-female line up in celebration of Women’s History Month.

The multi-purpose venue, cafe and community space, which is run by Community Interest Company Creative Seed, plays host to the event, which highlights a variety of exciting, female North East artists including Lola Simms, a 20-year-old singer-songwriter from Hexham, Northumberland who portrays influences from the likes of Joni Mitchell and Laura Marling in her delicate folk pop music; songwriter Ruby Aeron, originally from Derby but living in the North East, has had great success with her debut single Overdue, which got over 30,000 streams on Spotify, and shows off the artist’s classical training amid a pop-fuelled vibe; acoustic duo Black Moss, who are made up of vocalist Mollie and guitarist Jimmy, offer up abstract storytelling and intimate imagery through their jazzy vocals and flamenco style finger-picking; and singer-songwriter, Elle Longstaff, who writes and records songs about her life experiences from her bedroom such as the Lizzie McAlpine-esque piano ballad, A Thousand Times.
