Darlington-based quintet Second Sun gear up to release their debut EP this month. Having evolved from local practice space The Sawmill, which houses a tight community of musicians, the lo-fi alt. indie band’s release is confidently assured.

From the dreamy soundscape of Cave, with Paul Piper’s warm vocals underpinned by Tom Norgrove’s deliciously scuzzy guitar backdrop, to the shoegazey fuzz of Alright, replete with teasing synths courtesy of Will McTaggart and a driving rhythm section from Glen Adkins and Jake Stansfield, the EP’s a competent showcase of a band whose songs swirl around the themes of love, life and lucidity, and the group are already working on EP number two, due for release in the Spring.

They’ll give this EP an official launch at Seen in Darlington on Friday 27th November.
