Known for its cask ales and relaxed atmosphere, The Cumberland Arms plays host to folk rock frolics aplenty on Sunday 18th February, as promoters Wandering Oak welcome a rare talent to the Cumberland’s stage.

US star Scott Yoder has been making noise since the beginning of space and time, or at least his teenage years. His reinventions and genre tinkering resulted in the bluesy psych pop album Looking Back In Blue in 2016 and he has been touring ever since. Fresh from a string of gigs in west coast USA and the release of deliciously surreal single Ways of Love, he’s hot-footing over to Europe and is sure to mesmerise Newcastle along the way. Acoustic tones underpin lyrics which take the listener on a definitive journey, Yoder’s sound manages to merge with the sceptical of the unexpected, for a show that’s bound to be a melodic circus.

Support comes from punchy pop rock ‘n’ rollers Dog Years and harmony-driven folk quartet Pink Big Yacht, who between them throw catchy singalong treats and violin ditties into the mix. Hope for ponchos and pixie dust. Expect an eccentric trio of greatness.
