An all-new music festival is set to take place on Saturday 10th September at Northumbria University. Born out of the popular alt music night RISE, which has been going since its inception in 2016, RISEFEST is a 2,000 capacity event showcasing the best and brightest alternative acts in the music scene doing their thing over two stages.

The first act to be announced is punk/hardcore/alt-indie outfit, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes with a load more artists to be announced over the coming months. Alongside the music the event will also host impressive merch and food vendors, including grassroots entrepreneurial talent.

RISEFEST is co-founded by Richard Thompson, Ashley Horne and Christopher Davidson, who tells us more about the event…

“The live music world is an incredibly tough nut to crack and we’ve had to work very hard to put ourselves in a position to do this. We didn’t want to just team up with a big promoter and simply hand them the reins with our name on, we like to have control over the products we put our name on too. The mantra we tend to live by comes from a classic Fleetwood Mac track ‘Go your own way’”.

Tickets are on sale now and are available here.
