Who’s up for a bit of garage punk, then? Of course you are. Luckily, on Wednesday 27th July Empty Shop HQ in Durham have got the fabulous Radioactivity all the way from Denton, Texas to fulfil any craving you might have for fast, distorted, riffy snarl.

With two albums served up on the ice cold Dirtnap Records and featuring members of The Marked Men and Mindspiders, Radioactivity play urgent, melodic and raw tunes that will have you doing all those dances that you definitely should be doing at this type of gig. Have a listen to their most recent record Silent Kill; pounding, insistent and cool as fuck, they’re like a cowboy Ramones with more hooks than an angler’s tackle box. Get on it.

Support comes from local favourites Martha. Off the back of a rapturously received new album, it’s another chance to see them in their home town before they nonchalantly shrug off the critical attention because fame is for sell-outs, right? Also on the bill is Durham’s No Ditching, who do that humorously barbed indie punk thing so damned well.

Radioactivity, Martha and No Ditching play Empty Shop HQ, Durham on Wednesday 27th July.
