If you’re not especially looking forward to being force fed mainstream Christmas and you’re looking for something perhaps a little more diverse then consider heading over to Cobalt Studios in Shieldfield for an evening of alternative fun on Friday 6th December.

PUG is a night of short performances showcasing work from some of the most unique artists around. Hosted by performance artists Rosa Postlethwaite, Hannah Walker and DJ Jamie Cook it mixes local and national artists who are emerging and established to create a night out like no other.

Artists currently confirmed for December are artist and writer Scottee. Scottee is not easily definable, his work is brash, political and will often purposefully leave you a bit annoyed, overwhelmed but never impartial. Jane Gower is a Newcastle-based multi-platform artist who borrows from theatrical, choreographic, audio and visual art languages to create contemporary, playful, performances.

samOne samTwo are a multi-disciplinary artist duo based in Leeds. They stage micro expressions of contemporary society for us to experience. Expect enduring bodies and live creation of textured sound. Finally, Northern Proud Voices, the North East’s largest and longest running choir for LGBT people and friends, will sing you into the cheeky disco which promises to round off the evening.

PUG takes place at Cobalt Studios, Newcastle on Friday 6th December
