PRS Foundation, the UK’s leading charitable funder of new music and talent development, will be in the region from 24-28th October to run a week-long series of free-to-attend funding workshops and advice sessions for North-East music-makers.

They will be offering a mix of informal drop in 1-2-1 sessions, where you can speak to one of the PRSF’s grants team, as well as funding workshops where you can find out more about the charity’s support and initiatives, how and when to apply for funding and tips on making an application.

Additionally, the week will feature a specific funding workshop on the pioneering PPL Momentum Music Fund and an OnTrack panel with PRS for Music, PPL and PRS Foundation representatives to discuss making money from your music, funding and how to help your music career get on track.

CEO of PRS Foundation, Joe Frankland, adds, “We’re proud to have supported music creators from across the North East, including over recent years Sam Fender, Ruth Lyons, Nadine Shah, Martha, Pit Pony and Field Music to name a few, but we know there is a huge wealth of talent here from the grassroots up that need our support. I’m delighted that we will be able to spend a week across Wearside, Tyneside and Teesside to meet local bands, artists and composers to talk about our work and how our funding opportunities and initiatives can help their next new music projects and support their journey to the next stage of their careers.
