With Halloween still two weeks away, we’re being spoilt with the opportunity to bring out another set of fancy dress clothes as the 5th annual fancy dress party comes to the Cluny in Newcastle. This time round, it’s all about prohibition.
Hannabiell & Midnight Blue will be bringing their high energy Afro-Caribbean rhythms and Latin grooves to the venue, and giving it a bit of a twist with their jazz and reggae influences. The fusion of organic drums and vocal chants that the band produce creates the ultimate party atmosphere in any environment and if you’re not on the dancefloor attempting to do the Charleston to their psychedelic funk. They’re joined by one of the fastest rising ensembles on the UK jazz scene, Bad Ass Brass. Taking influences from all corners of the globe, the group will be making sure you get your dose of funk in your trunk. Rounding off the lineup are Crossings, who once again blend influences from all over the world to create a delicious blend of grooves and vibes.
Of course, since the theme is prohibition and this is a fancy dress party, make sure you get out your finest tuxedos and don those flapper hats to party like it’s 1929. Don’t worry though: the booze is definitely legal.
Prohibition Party comes to The Cluny, Newcastle on Friday 16th October.
