For the past fifteen years Newcastle promoter Prancey Dog has built a reputation of putting DIY music events around the city, that showcase inspiring acts of the highest calibre. Their latest offering at The Cumberland Arms on 19th July sees them carrying on in this vain with an incredible line up.

Having just released their album ‘Til The Morning’  The Catenary Wires (featuring Amelia Fletcher ex Talulah Gosh/Heavenly/Tender Trap) will be headlining the event. According to the indie pop duo, the music is ‘minimalist, melancholy, and a little woozy’, but the songs are also beautifully crafted and demonstrate their passion for pop melodies and harmonies.

The band’s name refers to the chain of curves made by the overhead cables seen suspended from pylons or above electric trains. These cables that can seem to lead you off to somewhere different and unknown, something that you can expect to happent when you watch The Catenary Wires do their thing live.

Supporting them are Newcastle’s DIY punk-popsters, Milky Wimpshake, and Glasgow’s dream-pop outfit, Life ModelTickets are £10 (+bf) and available online.
