On Wednesday 2nd October, soul darling of the swinging 60s and firm favourite of The Rolling Stones, PP Arnold returns to the North-East to kick off her nationwide tour at Middlesbrough Town Hall.  Joining her on stage will be her all-star backing band lead by her chief collaborator and Ocean Colour Scene frontman Steve Craddock, whom she collaborated with on her recent release and first original album in 50 years, The New Adventures of P.P. Arnold.

The concert will see the voice behind classics such as ‘The First Cut is the Deepest’ and ‘Will You Love Me Tomorrow perform a night of gospel, jazz and soul classics as well as material from her critically acclaimed new album. It’s a show she is looking forward to having played in Teesside in the past,  “I’ve been touring the UK since 1966 and have performed in the North East many times. My memories are of very enthusiastic audiences who love Soul music, so I’m thrilled to be coming to Teesside again.

The Middlesbrough crowds are very passionate and they’re warmth has been a major source of inspiration over the years. As well as playing Middlesbrough, I’ve performed in Redcar and Stockton-On-Tees in the past. This is my first album of new material in over 50 years so of course, I’m excited, wouldn’t you be?”

Tickets for P.P. Arnold featuring Steve Cradock at Middlesbrough Town Hall’s Crypt on 2 October are on sale now priced at £20 (plus booking fees).
