Reliably informed

Times are tough. People are going hungry and foodbanks are stepping up (like they always do) to make sure the most vulnerable in our society don’t go hungry. This kindness has not gone unnoticed by Sunderland’s sax-driven funk-pop outfit, PICNIC, who have put together a compilation album of some of the North-East’s finest musicians to try and raise money for the Sunderland Foodbank.

The album came from the band’s desire to have something positive come out of the current pandemic and consists of thirteen covers by North-East artists of their latest single, I Need Everybody, as well as an acoustic version from the band themselves. There are some great names that have got on board, including Field Music, Mt Misery, Holly Rees and Faye Fantarrow.

It’s out now and is a suggested donation of £7 with all the money going to the Foodbank with a target set of £500. If you’d like to buy a copy you can do so by visiting the band’s Bandcamp.
