How do you think your June will go? Is it going to be a good one? Happily you’ve got the opportunity to save it, or have it saved for you by Durham’s Pale Kids on Monday 27th June.

After an EP release that sold out in physical format virtually the same day it went on sale, they’re definitely a band on the up, and yet another example of quirky cool from Durham.

Bashing out upbeat, scuzzy melodies with a lyrical intelligence that brings to mind a North Eastern Spook School, they sound like a band that would take huge pleasure in avoiding the mainstream limelight, but you can almost guarantee that there’ll be a thousand Tumblr pages dedicated to them by the end of the year.

They’ll soon be putting out a split seven-inch with London punks Molar who by a stroke of coincidence are playing this gig too. Filling up the bill are Dirty Girl who are also from That London and also love a bit of DIY self-release. Oo-er, missus.

Pale Kids, Dirty Girl and Molar play Empty Shop HQ, Durham on Monday 27th June.
