Reliably informed

Having built up a loyal following of fans through books like Chavs and The Establishment, and his regular contributions to places like The Guardian, Owen Jones is a journalist who has gone from strength to strength over the last few years. His intelligent, thoughtful and eloquent delivery of ideas has struck a chord with a great many, and there’s a fantastic opportunity to hear him speak at Sage Gateshead on Monday 8th February.

The Politics Of Hope delivers an important message, and one sorely needed in the current political climate we live under. Hope is something that is starting to fade for a great many people, but Owen Jones tackles just why it’s so important we never lose it. There are alternatives across the world to be looked at, that could put us on the right path to end the inevitability of widening inequalities and injustice. He’ll discuss societies run in the interests of working people being a far better option than being run for the greedy at the top. You’d think that all sounds very obvious really, but we have seen all too well that it isn’t. Hope is an important message to be delivered, and one well worth listening to from one of the best bastions of it.
