With a stellar line up of professionals and heavyweights lined up to talk about some of the biggest issues in the music industry right now, Generator’s Music Futures conference promises to be the biggest event yet. There are three diverse main panels at this year’s event: The Rebirth of Radio, featuring Head of Visual Radio at the BBC Joe Harland, Music Publishing in the Digital Age, with an appearance by Victoria Campamor of Google Play and Data Reliance in A&R, spearheaded by Columbia’s Joint MD Alison Donald.

For those looking for something a bit grittier, the ever-popular Insight Presentations will see the likes of Cooking Vinyl’s Sammy Andrews, social media guru Darren Hemmings and ethical secondary ticketing pioneer Richard Davies tackling some of the toughest issues the industry is conjuring up right now. Sony Music’s Vice President of Strategy Fred Bolza will also be sharing his thoughts about where the industry is headed over the next decade.

For those who would rather let the music do the talking, a post-conference blowout is planned at The Cluny and Cluny 2 after the conference, featuring music from garage rock Mancunians PINS, up and coming alt. rockers Kagoule (pictured), indie trio Man Made and the new project from Gabriella Cilmi, All Kings & Queens. The local contingent is strong too, with fast-rising alternative indie band Coquin Migale joining the fun, alongside dark riff rockers Ilser, heavy blues duo Gallery Circus and soulful electronic producer Dom Zilla.

Music Futures comes to the Sage Gateshead on Thursday 12th November, with The Tipping Point Music Futures Live taking place at The Cluny and Cluny 2 in the evening.
