Formed after the break-up of the previously acclaimed Goldheart Assembly, London psych pop outfit Mono Club are set to tour in the wake of their debut album, Sky High And Submarine. Having amassed praise from the likes of The Huffington Post, the Dave Eringa (Manic Street Preachers) mixed album has seen recent single Best Laid Plans get the BBC 6Music playlist treatment.

Mono Club deal in a nuanced mix of cascading guitars entwined with shimmering synth atmospherics. A driving but understated rhythm section and lush vocal harmonies between John Herbert and recently recruited Lyla Foy elevate each track to fresh and dreamy air-headed heights.

The band will play The Studio, Hartlepool on Saturday 4th August, with support from Talent Show, a new project from Hartlepool-based artist James Leonard Hewitson. Debut single Dead In The Ground is a two minute stream of consciousness dash taking in the sights of existential dread along the way. Fears of stagnation, the stultifying routine of everyday life and the incessant tick of the clock permeate the lyrics, a message initially belied by the jaunty optimism of the catchy guitar hook. A show not to be missed.
