The weekly indie night celebrates half a dozen years with a stellar line up of bands
One of the longest running alt. music nights in Middlesbrough, Mixtape have been providing musical kicks at The Keys on Linthorpe Road for six years. Run by the inimitable Henry Carden, who strives to provide stonking line-ups of wide and varying musical genres at the club every week, Mixtape’s February line-up continues to provide some superb acts.
Kicking off in style with local indie pop scamps Collectors Club and indie alt. rockers Street Party In Soho (Tuesday 3rd); the rock ‘n’ roll infused hip-hop of Bi:Lingual (Tuesday 10th); and alt. pop rockers Serinette plus songwriter Joe Ramsey (Tuesday 17th) before the party well and truly gets going on Tuesday 24th February thanks to the Krautrock garage stylings of The Vryll Society. The Liverpudlian band are gaining plaudits from far and wide – they were named number 10 in Loaded magazine’s recent new music feature – and have recently finished some support slots with indie rock darlings Peace. They’re ably assisted by the epic post-rock stylings of Abel Raise The Cain, who will ensure the celebrations go off with a bang.
