Theatre director Jake Murray is set to bring classic play Miss Julie to stages across the North East, almost 25 years after his Dad’s version was wowing audiences and Jake himself. The production will visit The Queens Hall, Hexham Wednesday 13th and Thursday 14th March, Gala Theatre Durham on Saturday 23rd March, The Exchange, North Shields from Thursday 28th until Saturday 3oth March and the Majestic Theatre Darlington on Wednesday 3rd and Thursday 4th April.

In 1995 he watched Braham’s take on Miss Julie, which starred Amanda Donohoe at the Royal Exchange in Manchester, and vowed to stage his own version one day and it’s exciting that he now is, with a regional twist put on the original story, bringing it bang up to date.

Jake’s vision of Miss Julie focuses on the relationship between the daughter of a Lord and his head butler/valet, and makes for a compelling evening of theatre.
