On Tuesday 27th July, Birmingham based theatre company, Paperback Theatre presents Me and My Doll at Alphabetti Theatre. After a successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2019 and an online stream with the Arena Theatre, Wolverhampton, the theatre company are reviving the production for the Newcastle Fringe Festival 2021.

The production is about Kate, a workaholic with an aggressive streak, who is “gifted” a blow-up-boyfriend by her colleagues and keeps it as an act of defiance. Writer Lucy Bird explains more…
 “This is a play about why we watch RomComs and why so many of those films follow hard-working. high-powered women whose success has come at the cost of their ability to love or be loved.”
