After releasing their LP Courting Strong earlier in the year, County Durham DIY outfit Martha have announced that they’ll be releasing their latest single from the album,┬áSleeping Beauty, on 19th January. Alongside the release, they’re also offering out a free digital mixtape for their fans, which includes a smorgasbord of DIY punk tunes from some of the scene’s best names.

The mixtape ranges from the perfectly crafted indie-pop of Radiator Hospital (featuring vocals from Waxahatchee’s Katie Crutchfield), to the more frenetic noise punk of Cardiff’s Twisted, the County Durham band have managed to collate tracks from some of the world’s best DIY bands. The mixtape is free to download from the band’s Bandcamp page from 19th January.

If you can’t wait that long for a fix of Martha, though, you could always pop down to Durham’s Empty Shop on New Year’s Eve, where the band will be playing at the biggest party of the year. The Discount Horse NYE Party has a Halloween theme (giving you a perfect excuse to get an extra wear out of October’s fancy dress) and also features a veritable line-up of spooky showcases.

Martha play at the Discount Horse NYE Party at Empty Shop, Durham on Wednesday 31st December.
