Newcastle is well-stocked for pianists, but there is always room for one more. On September 11th the well-travelled and hugely talented Mark Pringle will bring his trio to the legendary Jazz Cafe as part of his series of gigs supporting the launch of his new album A Moveable Feast. A technically gifted and extremely well-educated pianist, Mark has spent time at Birmingham and Paris conservatoires, and will shortly add Berlin, Copenhagen and Amsterdam, well-rounded to say the least!

The trio’s style is at times fast and frenetic, and at others mellow and almost avant garde, but always with a great range of jazz imperatives. This promises to be a real hot apple, with all the right ingredients for a mesmerising evening of cool jazz, warm hearts and scorching solos and I am sure all the Geordie pianistas will be in attendance to check out one of the real emerging talents of the UK jazz scene. Get down to the jazz caff nice and early though; you know the score with the number of seats available, and trust me, you don’t want to miss this one!

The Mark Pringle Moveable Feast Trio comes to the Jazz Café, Newcastle on Friday 11th September.
