Reliably informed

More sterling work from the Wandering Oak folk, who are bringing the remarkable Italian psych outfit Mamuthones to Newcastle’s Cluny on Friday 9th March.

Named for a frankly alarming Sardinian traditional festival (at which monstrous characters with thick hair, blackened faces and covered in cattle bells roam the streets scaring the bejesus out of everyone they meet), the band have been turning out an excellent and singular blend of electronic psychedelia for a while now (think Goblin remixed by LCD Soundsystem).

The addition of new drummer Andrea Davì seems to have kicked things up a notch as imminent new Rocket Recordings album Fear On The Corner proves. A strong supporting bill sees local psych titans Behold A Pale Horse appear alongside fellow travellers The Lightwaves Museum.
