Silver Trees headline the bill of psychedelia-infused rock
Psychedelia has nestled its way into the heart of the North East music scene, Lost in the Woods have wasted little to no time in displaying a collection of the most mesmeric, upcoming local musicians at the humble Music Lounge in Stockton-on-Tees.
Headliners Silver Trees, a bohemian, electro-psych five piece from Hartlepool, are known for their spiritual, unworldly sets that exude a laid-back, Velvet Underground feel. Effulgent lead singer Belle Dove’s dainty vocals clash against folksy, rhythmic vibrations provide a satisfying conclusion to a beautiful line-up, and their unique genre-sandwich is a brave leap, but lands safely in the palms of an already impressive Teesside following.
Support is provided by Wild Birds of Britain, a heavier addition to the bill, comprising of drawled, hazy vocals amidst Eastern-derived drum beats and classic whirls of sultry electric guitar. Their combination of music that is relaxing whilst infectiously broody dubs them as a captivating presence live. Entwining gentle, effervescent lyrics and ambient slurs of guitar, shoegaze wonders Figmennt open the show, guaranteed to induce atmospheric, dream-pop sounds with sweet releases such as She.
Expect an evening of heavenly noise, fascinating talent and perhaps the odd overdose of paisley print and tambourines.
