Reliably informed

To break out a bit of a cranky¬†old idiom, waiting for Lilliput singles is a bit like waiting for the bus. You wait ages for one, then two come along at once (and if you’ve ever waited for a bus in Sunderland, you know that can be a long, long time). Just a couple of months ago the Sunderland natives released their debut single – the power stomp of Waiting To Go – and now they’re gearing up to launch another, Turn It Around.

Across the summer, Lilliput have proved themselves to be an almost ridiculously fun live act, with their homages to all the best parts of 60s and 70s pop honed to perfection across the years. With audible influences from The Beatles and Supertramp – with little inflections of T-Rex and The Kinks along the way – the band have forged a niche for themselves as one of Wearside’s most accomplished and likable groups, sitting alongside Hyde & Beast as pop revivalists with a contemporary edge.

Lilliput launch Turn It Around at Independent, Sunderland on Friday 30th October.
