On Sunday 3rd November, a night of left-field loveliness comes to one of Newcastle’s hippest joints, the Shoe Tree Cafe in Heaton. Solo artists Léonore Boulanger and Howie Reeve perform as part of a delightful doubleheader in the cafe’s intimate setting.

Léonore Boulanger, who released her fourth album, Practice Chanter earlier this year is a student of drama, experimental jazz improvisation and Persian music. Her sound is a beautifully woven tapestry that reflects her music education and interest in African folk artists such as George Crumb, Teiji Ito, Harry Partch and singer Meredith Monk.

Howie Reeve an underground and iconic figure who has played in a number of essential Glasgow bands and is DIY to the core. His solo bass performances are skilled but and exude ambience, with a sound that takes in post-punk and avant-folk to create something truly unique.

Doors at 7pm and tickets are £5 ADV
