Stand-up, poet and Radio 4 regular Kate Fox is once again returning to her Northern roots by taking to the stage at Durham’s Gala Theatre on Sunday 23rd November. Born in Bradford, Fox has been poet in residence for the Great North Run and Glastonbury, toured three one-woman shows and has written a weekly column for The Journal, tackling everything from Northern marginalisation to feminism and class prejudice.

Fox has also been Poet in Residence for some rather unusual events, including for a colostomy nurse’s conference, which has inspired her latest show. On her latest stint, Fox is sharing stories from her various residencies, which has seen her writing poetry while running thirteen miles and being tempted to test out a catheter in the name of poetic reportage. She is also set to explore the theme of home and how words have the power to either make us fit in or stand out from the crowd.

It’s set to be a funny, engaging and thought-provoking show from one of the comedy and poetry world’s major personalities.

Kate Fox comes to Durham’s Gala Theatre on Sunday 23rd November.
