It might be due on April Fool’s Day, but this is no joke: JibbaJabba are having a baby! The little bundle of joy, Jibba(ish), is taking residency at Mr Darcy’s in Whitley Bay on the first Wednesday of every month. Just like its Geordie parent, Jenni Pascoe will be hosting the event, which features a good old mix of top quality spoken word, music and comedy, but in a more intimate and relaxed seaside setting.

Renowned session guitarist and solo musician Alan Jones is providing the music for the night, bringing his spellbinding finger-picking skills with him. Henry Gallagher, who has been writing poetry for most of his life, is bringing works from his chapbook Dark Matter 3 and contributions from Thrills & Chills to the venue. Glaswegian Mandy Maxwell is also providing poetry, which may or may not include a dose of toilet humour and bad language. Comedy on the night comes courtesy of Si Beckwith, stand-up comedian and writer with a passion for alliteration and all things a bit silly.

If you want to experience JibbaJabba in some slightly different surroundings with a bit more ozone, then Jibba(ish) could end up being your favourite night.

Jibba(ish) takes place at Mr Darcy’s, Whitley Bay on Wednesday 1st April.
