What could be better than bringing together a host of the region’s finest acts to perform in aid of charity? I’ll let you ponder that one. The answer is probably nothing. The brainchild of Generator’s Michelle Lloyd and Amazing Radio’s Tom Cotton, the Mind All Dayer taking place at Newcastle’s Cluny on Saturday 18th April aims to raise money for Michelle’s 3000 challenge, which includes a 24 hour trek across 50km of the most challenging and unforgiving countryside in the UK, as well as the 15 highest mountains in Wales.

A boatload of excellent local acts have agreed to take part in the event. Headlining are The Lake Poets, as Martin Longstaff returns from Nashville where he’s been recording with Dave Stewart, plus pop scamps Brilliant Mind, shoegaze rockers High Tide 15:47, hotly tipped indie band Coquin Migale, Sunderland’s harmonising hotshots Lilliput, alt. popsters Street Party In Soho and the dusty pop sounds of Eva Stone. All proceeds from the gig are going to Mind, the charity that aims to help anyone suffering from mental health issues. Get thee there.

The event takes place at The Cluny, Newcastle on Saturday 18th April from 3pm.
