Reliably informed

It seems the fireworks that invade the skies on Bonfire Night are doubling as signals for intergalactic ravers to gather at Cobalt Studios for a night of dancing and partying, other-world style, as electro crossover rockers Henge bring love, dance and cosmic dross to Newcastle.

Complete with costumed band members, Henge offers an original and mesmerising sound of cosmic rock. Although they claim there are no ‘earth words’ to describe their sound, I will attempt to: a concoction of synths, guitars and drums, some tunes are guitar-led indie rockindie-rock, whilst some are so rooted in electronics it’s no wonder Henge are not of this earth.

Support comes from Sungoat, who are amazingly categorised as the love-child of the Prodigy and Vengaboys if that child was then ‘raised in a croft on the Outer Hebrides’. We have been promised ribbon dancing and neo-ceilidh routines to accompany the fusion of traditional Scottish/Irish folk and old-school hardcore. It’s promised to be a night that is sonically experimental and visually stunning, and perhaps one you’ll never be able to stop talking about, they’re dressed as aliens for christ’s sake!

Henge and Sungoat play Cobalt Studios, Newcastle on Friday 5th November
