Trucker punks Ghost Guilt release their second EP on 12th October via London-based label Everything Sucks Music – home to Crumbs, Megaflora and fellow Durham-ites, T-Shirt Weather – and they’ll be celebrating with a launch show at Little Buildings in Newcastle on Thursday 25th October.

Fans of the band’s older material, like the unbridled catchy punk of Billy Liar, will relish a new, beefier sound. Mating In Captivity is the band’s best and punkiest track yet, a cynical swipe at modern relationships with an accompanying video (shot by Ste from Mouses) which is arguably the best to come out of the region in aeons. Elsewhere, Breath is one minute 20 seconds of Stranglers-esque new wave ire, and Serial Drinkers explores the band’s more melodic side as they contemplate the night before from the shaky and paranoid perspective of a monster hangover. Certainly relatable.

After heading up the Little Buildings stage at Evo Emerging and a recent turn at Mousetival, the Newcastle date promises more danceable punk shenanigans. With a full album also pencilled in for next year expect to be hearing much more from Ghost Guilt.
