The North-East music support agency launch a partnership with Brighter Sounds for a residency for Trans and Non-Binary music creators from the North with DJ and producer I.Jordan in January.
North-East music support agency Generator team up with I. JORDAN a producer, DJ and one of dance music’s most exciting artists, to present an dedicated creative residency for Trans and Non-Binary music makers.
The 6-day project takes place at the Star and Shadow in January next year, and will provide a space for artists to explore and develop their creative practice in a nurturing and mutually supportive environment. The residency will feature appearances from guest artists Ifeoluwa and TAAHLIAH and will end with a performance at Star and Shadow in Newcastle and at Tranuary in Manchester.
I. JORDAN adds, “This will be an opportunity to support, nurture and grow our creativity and create something unique in a space that is ours. Trans and queer spaces are powerful and transformative, but there are not enough dedicated spaces that specifically allow artists to just create. We will be using the power of community to harness our creativity. I can’t wait to see what we make together.”
If you’re a Trans or Non-Binary musician, producer or singer (aged 18+), from any genre or musical background, then you can apply either in writing or by recording yourself (using video or audio) and including links to these recordings within the form. The application deadline is 11pm on Monday 12 December.
