It’s likely that this year’s Albums of 2015 lists will feature Father John Misty’s I Love You, Honeybear pretty high up the ranks. With its odes to the mystifying nature of love, both past and present, it’s a record that catapulted the former Fleet Foxes drummer into a limelight all of his own.

The American folk singer-songwriter’s natural on-stage charm has also not gone unnoticed and, while at times he can be painfully self-aware, there’s no doubt he’s a charismatic and mesmerising performer. Josh Tillman brings his sharp-suited six-piece band with him to Sage Gateshead on Saturday 14th May, where they will perform tracks from the recent record, 2012’s Fear Fun and hopefully a handful of new songs.

Tickets for Father John Misty’s gig at Sage Gateshead on Saturday 14th May go on sale on Friday 30th October priced £18.50.
