After the resounding success of Yellow Creatures’ single launch at the pub last month, it’s back to business as usual for our own Mark Corcoran-Lettice and his Endless Window night. This month he’s bringing the fuzzy logic of Baker Island to the venue. The band’s debut album was released in August and contained a cornucopia of reverb-drenched tunes that, by the band’s own admission, were uncompicatedly complex (get your head around that one when you’re listening to the twisting time signatures). Coming across as the lovechild between Pixies and Belle & Sebastian, the band rarely play their own gigs, so this is a rare opportunity to catch them weaving their quirky tales in the flesh.

Supporting them on the night are Durham nearly-rap duo Outside Your House. The duo of Faithful Johannes and Jonathan Swift enjoy romanticising the mundane in their blend of laid-back hip hop and borderline melancholy pop melodies. Kieran Rafferty rounds off the line up, making a special appearance. His latest work sees him mixing his soulful singer-songwriter background with lo fi beats, as on the beautiful Stutter, 4pm. Afterwards, the Endless Window DJ will be playing a mix of tunes that encompasses everything from pop to rap and rock, so there’s no excuse not to stick around.

Endless Window 7 takes place at the Cumberland Arms, Newcastle on Friday 16th October.
