Another month! Another Endless Window event! It’s that time again for our very own Mark Corcoran-Lettice to bring a bevvy of weird and wonderful (stress the wonderful) acts to Newcastle’s best venues. This time, he’s only gone and bagged the truly compelling Waskerley Way to play. Michael Philip Bridgewater’s project takes inspiration from a whole host of genres; whether it’s oblique beats from hip hop or dream pop guitars, he manages to bend anything to create something new and unique, all enveloped in his own swirling, psychedelic synths. He recently returned to the scene with a new single – 54.490439N, 0.605494E – which is now available to download for any price you like on his Bandcamp page (we recommend paying; it’s very good…)

Joining Waskerley Way on the lineup are Steve Strode, Cath Tyler and Rob Woodcock, aka the mighty FRET! Whether it’s no wave experimentation, the intricacy and precision of math rock or ethereal melodies, the trio infuse everything they do with an infectious energy that makes their live sets brilliantly dynamic. Recent single Attune/Cowboy has also been gaining some rave reviews, but it’s in the live environment that the trio truly come alive.

With more of your usual features, including the usual Endless Window DJ shenanigans playing music of all genres from every era you can think of, it’s yet another unmissable night down The Globe.

Waskerley Way and FRET! play at The Globe, Newcastle on Friday 29th May.
