Revered poet Simon Armitage showed he can use his wondeful way with words in theatre too, in his play Eclipse; and this can be witnessed at The People’s Theatre as the play is brought to life there from Thursday 25th until Saturday 27th February.

The story is of six friends interviewed by police after the disappearance of a strange and slightly unnerving girl they met on a Cornish beach, beneath the cliffs just before a total eclipse. The plot revolves around what happened to her, and what also happened to them.

With Armitage a Professor of Poetry at the University of Sheffield and the University of Oxford, the language of the play is key; challenging, beautiful and of course poetic, it’s a piece of theatre which will really capture the imagination.

Eclipse is at The People’s Theatre, Newcastle from Thursday 25th until Saturday 27th February.
