Presenting Breakfast of Champions, DJ Yoda is. Duncan Beiny is bringing his alter-ego’s turntable skills, that have earned him a place among the very best on the planet, to the Sage Gateshead’s Hall 2 on Saturday 28th March. The past decade has seen the multi-genre mixing machine rise from scratching the surfaces of hip-hop beginnings to becoming a cult-club-hero for his ability to combine a cocktail of influences including funk, trap, pop, reggae, drum ‘n’ bass with big band swing and country and western into unadulterated party music.

Best known for his How to Cut and Paste series, DJ Yoda has upped the ante by working intensively in the studio creating his first live band, Breakfast of Champion, featuring up-and-coming wordsmith Rex Domino, Mouse Outfit MCs Sparks and Truthos Musafa.

Also joining the party will be a host of musicians chosen in partnership with Manchester venue and arts project, Band on the Wall, who hosted their live debut in front of a sell-out crowd. Being a throwback to the golden-age of hip hop while still holding a modern day twist, this night will inspire belief to those 90s kids who still mourn the demise of good-old-fashioned hip hop. Bust some moves, you shall.

DJ Yoda plays at the Sage Gateshead on Saturday 28th March.
