Campaigning charity Difference North East put together a playlist featuring disabled creative talent from the North-East via Alphabetti website and social media
Shine, is an online festival taking place on Thursday 3rd December to mark International Day of Disabled People as well as shining a spotlight on all the disabled talent from the North-East.
Disabled artists are, in general, hugely under-represented in the mainstream media and so campaigning charity Difference North East have decided to put together a playlist of creative disabled people curated by Bogsey (Development Manager of Difference North-East and spoken word poet), Ruth Paterson (Holy Moly & The Crackers) and Lisette Auton (writer and poet). They have put together a collection that covers music, spoken word, dance, theatre, sound and visual art, craft, photography and comedy, all by disabled performers from our region. The list also includes a comedy set recorded especially for Difference by Britain’s Got Talent winner, Lost Voice Guy.
The event is being hosted by Alphabetti Theatre on their ‘Betti Recommends’ website, and via a take-over of their social media channels too (look out for #shine2020).
