Some of the most unique gigs of the year are set for Thursday 30th September and beyond, as DFDS’s award-winning North Sea Sounds music mini-cruises are back, and they’re back with a big splash. Ferry operator’s Newcastle-Amsterdam ships are transformed into the best floating venues, and all on board can enjoy a cruise and a concert all wrapped up into one.

There’s four different options for the two night mini-cruises, with the opening night departing on Friday 30th September featuring Craig Charles’ Funk & Soul Club playing the best in Northern soul and more; and Smoove & Turrell playing their funk and soul songs that have seen them wowing fans consistently. There’s also The Lindisfarne Story departing on Sunday 16th October, following the tale of how the local legendary folk band were formed.

Indie popsters Frankie And The Heartstrings and electro indie rockers Hyde And Beast are part of a stellar bill for the show which departs on Friday 18th November, which also features DJ sets from snooker legend and now music spinner Steve Davis and local favourites Field Music, as well as a performance by the folksy Cornshed Sisters; this could be one memorable trip for many music fans. It’s all brought to a close on Friday 2nd December, as the Bowie Ball pays tribute to one of the biggest music icons of all time. The Ronsonettes, one of the finest Bowie tribute acts, provide live music, and it’s followed by DJ sets to dance the night away to, dressed as Ziggy Stardust himself too if you wish.

Prices for the autumn mini cruises start from £63 per person, including en suite cabin accommodation on board and up to five hours to explore the Dutch capital, snapping up tickets is a must, as this is four opportunities for some of the most rare, memorable adventures anyone could wish for. With so much awesome fun on board, we’re gonna need a bigger boat.

North Sea Sounds start on Thursday 30th September.
