Reliably informed

When people ask me how I’d describe my life, my go to answer is that it’s full of maximum sorrow. Which coincidentally is also the name of the latest album from London alt. rockers Desperate Journalist (ahem…)

The band will be heading to Newcastle’s Head of Steam on Saturday 6th November to bash out some bangers along with the dark GHOST//SIGNALS.

Desperate Journalist have been going since 2012 and have released four albums, with this newest album leaning heavier into the dream pop elements of their alternative soundscape, with vocals from Jo Bevan being a highlight. Expect tunes like head-banging the Personality Girlfriend and the hypnotic Everything You Wanted.

Supporting them are Newcastle’s own GHOST//SIGNALS. The band have released a half dozen singles, including the infectious Hectoring and the aggressive A Bag for Death; a track name which immediately conjured up imagery of supermarkets in Hell.

So, unlike my life, this gig will be maximum joy.
