Having recently released their third album Metaprogramação (and first for influential American label Neurot Recordings), Sao Paolo’s DEAFKIDS continue in their mission to produce propulsive and discordant raw punk. Templo do Caos typifies the record with its increasingly chaotic tribal rhythms and sinister moans; elsewhere a blend of industrial noise and breakneck psychedelic hardcore aims to ensnare the listener in a cacophony of sound.

“Deceived by perceiving our so-called individuality as a form of freedom, we are programmed to live and continue living as a fragmented and binary model of nature.” The band express, about the release. “We must unite as one and resist against the violent symbols of oppression, including what’s imprinted on our own self, that must be daily sacrificed.”

Offer yourself up for a ritualistic experience at The Cluny, Newcastle on Wednesday 24th April, where they’ll be joined by fellow Brazilian band Rakta who offer a mash-up of hypnotic deathpunk and psych.
