Newcastle based promoters and DJ collective DAZE celebrate their one-year anniversary this February, and they’ve invited two of house music’s hottest properties to mark the occasion.

The last twelve months have seen the likes of S.A.M and Rich NXT make the trip North to line up alongside some of the city’s most talented residents. DAZE was created by Luke Shalom and Alex Stevens, and later joined by Ewan Hawkes, was born out of their love for the deeper, minimal side of house and a desire to offer the region something completely new.

As well as exciting new artists, they’re also introducing the city’s dancers to a series of carefully selected, and sometimes entirely unique venues. They’ve recently taken over Antler and Tyne Bank Brewery, and even draped their signature décor over the Baltic Gallery

This February’s edition takes place in Revolucion De Cuba’s underground nightclub. The aim is to recreate the intimacy and debauchery of a basement warehouse party, right in the heart of the city’s centre. It’s an ambitious project that looks to bring together the artist, location, records and dancefloor for a special, one-off party. Chris Stussy has been making waves in the house circuit for a number of years, eventually breaking through the underground with tracks like the deliciously sleazy house banger Evening Drive. His turn at Revolucion De Cuba will kick start what promises to be a busy year for the Dutchman, with sets at Fabric and for Amsterdam’s DGLT festival lined up before the summer has even begun.

This time he’ll be lining up alongside his fellow countryman Prunk, whose made a name for himself as  DJ, producer and the owner of renowned record label PIV.  His reputation for both playing and releasing excellent house music secured him residencies at Straf_Werk and DGTL, keeping the crowd moving with his signature mix of hi-hats and rolling basslines. It was Prunk himself who first discovered Chris Stussy, and their dextrous mixing and musical chemistry has seen them share a DJ booth countless times since. The duo will be supported by Ebb & Flow (Luke Shalom and Ewan Hawkes) and Jeff Boxler (Alex Stevens). The DAZE residents and creators are some of the region’s most passionate promoters. It’s a party made by clubbers, for clubbers. It’s a labour of love which sees big DJs in small spaces, and the city’s dancefloors like you’ve never seen them before.

Daze takes place at Revolucion De Cuba on Saturday 1st February and features Ebb & Flow, Jeff Boxler, Cooke (Tranquil) Mason, Electic Sounds and Chris Hegg
