Reliably informed

With a punk soul and a bit of an anarchistic streak, Dave Clarke isn’t your average DJ. Constantly pushing the boundaries of what techno and electro can achieve, John Peel once dubbed him the Baron of Techno. Whatever you want to call him, one thing’s certain: Clarke knows good techno, and has provided extraordinary remixes for The Chemical Brothers, New Order, Depeche Mode, Moby, Underworld and more in his time.

Despite providing mind-blowing sets for large venues and festivals since the mid-1980s, Clarke is no stranger to more intimate venues, having played such legendary – and sweaty – clubs as Fabric, Fuse and Berghain; he should be well at home at the Cosmic Ballroom, then, when Milk the Cow bring him to Tyneside for a very special set. The long running club night will be welcoming Clarke and a set of electro bangers, as well a sneaky mix of old-school tunes that show off his hip hop roots, to the crowds on the night.

Dave Clarke comes to Milk the Cow at the Cosmic Ballroom, Newcastle, on Friday 1st May.
