Modern gothic tale Clear White Light is set to come to Live Theatre, Newcastle from Thursday 18th October until Saturday 10th November. This sets up a world premiere for the Gosforth-set play from Olivier Award-nominated writer Paul Sirett.

Inspired by Alan Hull’s time as a psychiatric nurse, with the backdrop of cuts to the NHS, the play draws on hit songs the songwriter wrote for Lindisfarne, with a live band performing on stage. The powerful script draws influence from Edgar Allan Poe’s short story The Fall of the House of Usher, and has been developed over a number of years. The combination of Alan Hull’s incredible songwriting, alongside a powerful script, will prove to be a very special and unique theatrical experience.

A stellar cast will bring some immensely relevant words to life, with Charlie Hardwick, Joe Caffrey, Bryony Corrigan and newcomer Dale Jewitt, alongside actors and musicians Phil Adèle and Alice Blundell appearing.
